Sydney Roller Derby League's final bout for 2012 is here! It’s SYDNEY vs. MELBOURNE in the ultimate inter-city battle here at Sydney Boys High at Moore Park in Sydney!
2012 has seen an epic season for Sydney Roller Derby League (SRDL). From derby tournaments to home season games, Sydney Roller Derby League has demonstrated the skills, finesse and commitment of their skaters. After such an amazing year it is only right to finish off the 2012 season with a bang!
Sunday the 28th of October will see Sydney Roller Derby League's top level team the Assassins take on Victorian Roller Derby League's (VRDL) Queen Bees, a clash that is sure to see an epic bout full of fast, hard-hitting and athletic roller derby.
Sydney Roller Derby League's Assassins have had a fantastic year in 2012, taking out 5th place at The Great Southern Slam (TGSS) at Adelaide earlier in the year. These skaters have been training hard all year with extra training sessions, a whole season of home team games and several bouts against rival representative teams. The Assassins are ready to showcase their athleticism, strategy and skating mastery one last time in 2012 up against VRDL's Queen Bees.
All the way from Melbourne, the Victoria Roller Derby League Queen Bees represent the up and coming skaters of VRDL. These ladies skate hard and fast and are the next generation of VRDL's All Stars; the team that took out the #1 spot in Australia and New Zealand at The Great Southern Slam earlier this year. These skaters will be looking to put up a good fight on the track and give the Assassins a run for their money.
On top of this fantastic display of sporting prowess, there will be a barbeque, bake sale, half time entertainment and a few more surprises for all involved. It is the perfect way to spend a Sunday in Sydney!
